Cathy Homer is a Business Advisor at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, where she’s been coaching new startups for about two years.
When the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce signed up to EZOO’s salary Sacrifice scheme, EZOO delivered the welcome presentation to the Chamber employees to explain the benefits to them and to offer test drives in a selection of electric cars.
During the presentation, Cathy was already in the market for a new car – but was unaware of electric car salary sacrifice schemes and how beneficial they could be. The presentation opened her eyes to the tax-efficient, all-inclusive solution that seemed almost too good to be true.

The Challenge
Before discovering EZOO, Cathy was looking at an Audi Q5 or Q7 – bigger cars that offered the space and comfort she needed for her high-mileage job. A traditional personal lease for a Q5 would have cost her approximately £400 per month, with insurance, maintenance, and fuel costs on top of that.
As a self-described “petrol head” who used to rally (and with a daughter who still does!), Cathy had always thought electric vehicles were “cheating.” But with rising fuel costs and a desire for something more practical, she was open to exploring her options.
The Solution
After attending EZOO’s presentation at the Chamber, Cathy took a test drive with the team and was immediately impressed by the Tesla Model Y. “It’s easy to drive, minimalistic, and totally different to anything I’ve driven before,” she said. Within a couple of weeks, she’d crunched the numbers and realised that salary sacrifice was not only more convenient – it worked out to be cost-effective too.

Cathy ordered her brand-new Tesla Model Y in May 2024. The process was straightforward, and she was supported throughout by EZOO’s team, particularly Hiten. Later, when Cathy had an issue with the headlights, Hiten jumped in and sorted it immediately. Even halfway into her 3-year lease, Hiten still stays in touch with Cathy both via LinkedIn and via occasional emails.
The Results
Cathy is in an electric car – a car she never thought she’d be in – and is loving it. The all-inclusive nature of salary sacrifice means she gets to drive her Tesla with peace of mind, not needing to worry about insurance, servicing, or unexpected costs.
“It’s so much more convenient than having lots of direct debits,” Cathy explained. “For one easy monthly cost, I get everything included – and I’m not tied into a long contract.”
In Cathys previous car (an Audi Q5), she was doing around 200 miles a week and spending £80-£100 on fuel alone. Now, Cathy spends just £30-£40 charging her Tesla. That’s a saving of £3,120 per year. And she’s helping the planet. It’s a win-win.
Recommendation
Cathy would 100% recommend EZOO to anyone considering salary sacrifice. “It’s a brilliant opportunity to have an affordable new car that’s convenient and cost-effective,” she said. “It all depends on your financial situation, but I’d recommend anyone look at the finances – salary sacrifice is not as widely known as it should be.”
She’s already been spreading the word to business owners she knows, and she’d absolutely consider using EZOO again in the future.
That’s where EZOO stepped in with their EV salary sacrifice scheme.

The salary sacrifice scheme made it so affordable and convenient - everything's included. I went from spending £80-£100 a week on fuel to just £30-£40 charging at home. The process was seamless, and the EZOO team, especially Hiten, were brilliant throughout.
I'd recommend EZOO to anyone. It's a fantastic opportunity to drive a brand-new car without the hassle or the hidden costs. I'll definitely be using them again in the future.
